| Company Profile

Paul Wood started iP Edge in 2008 after 10 years of being involved in the internet industry as a software programmer, engineer and architect; alongside helping run web development agencies on an operational level.

iP Edge was born to cater for the growing and specialist area of internet consulting. As the web software industry has matured, the need for business & technical systems analysis has increased. iP Edge benefits from Paul's many years of experience in the industry as well as his vision for what is to come.

He trained as a software developer at university, completing a BSc. (Hons) Computing Science course which led to a web development manager role in the UK early in his career, adding team leadership and project management to his repertoire of skills.

In November 2001 and after moving to Australia, Paul joined the advertising agency Pilgrim Communications as the web development manager for their internet division - iP Internet. Not long after, in April 2002, iP Internet became their own entity in which Paul was one of the key founders and drivers of the new business as the technical and operations manager.

With this vast experience, he is able to envisage, architect and create large-scale, complex web applications.

Our three key pillars: Universal Excellence, Positive Change & Continuous Improvement

The role of the systems analyst has long been entrenched in the world of traditional software development, as IT projects needed the business understanding, planning and specification that these skills brought. With web software now approaching and often exceeding the complexity of these traditional projects, it is incredible how many companies skip these vital steps and wonder why their website or web application isn't working for them or even working at all.

Universal Excellence

A well implemented application can stand the test of time, heavy usage, future upgrades and security attacks. Those extra dollars up front mean savings in future evolutions of the system and technology, crisis avoidance from stability & security and profit driving through efficiencies. Being a point of contact with your customers it is vital that your online presence oozes quality.

Positive Change

Careful consultation with the management team and the actual people who are going to use the application on a day-to-day basis (whether that is staff, suppliers or the consumer), defines how to effectively marry the overall organisation goals with the way people work or play.

We constantly look for ways to drive efficiency through culture-complementary process automation. This will often identify areas of the business that could change for the better and comes with a pro-active approach to planning and scoping the project requirements.

Continuous Improvement

Everyone knows that any significant piece of software has bugs in it and therefore requires maintenance and up-keep. And however thorough the initial planning, there are always factors not considered because they were missed or not relevant at the time. A commitment to ongoing analysis & refinement takes on board practical learnings and embraces positive business change.
